Welcome to the DW Band (formerly The Watts and Whiffin Big Band).

We're a 7 piece live band specialising in providing live music for special occasions including weddings, birthday parties, corporate parties, functions across the North East including Newcastle, Durham, Teeside, Cumbria, North Yorkshire and Northumberland.

The band members have over 12 years of international experience, so you can expect a professional and impressive show. The band features a fantastic 3-piece brass section and 2 male lead vocalists. Read more about our band members.

Wedding Band

Are you Interested in booking us for a wedding? We've introduced a section of the site which is devoted to wedding entertainment. You can also request a free promo pack which includes a cd.

Function Band

We have played hundreds of North East functions including corporate events, christmas parties, anniversaries and birthdays. For the last 6 consecutive years we have been booked as the house band to play at the Newcastle Assembly Rooms for their Christmas gala dinners. A typical December at the Assembly Rooms involved 15 gigs playing to 500 people per night.

Where Will We Travel?

Our prime area is within a few hours from our base in Newcastle Upon Tyne including Durham, Teeside, Cumbria, North Yorkshire and Northumberland. It is rare that we travel much beyond this - however it is always worth contacting us just in case. Popular locations include:
